Your business or workplace can claim up to £20,000 towards the installation of EV charging points. This can go towards facilities for you and your staff at offices, or destination charging at hotspots such as hotels, restaurants and tourist spots.

The EV chargepoint grants provide funding towards the cost of installing electric vehicle smart chargepoints at domestic properties across the UK. This gives you £500 towards the cost of installation, and we deal with this grant 100% on your behalf.

Scottish Energy Saving Trust Grant

As an Energy Saving Trust approved installer, we can apply for the Scottish domestic charge point grant on your behalf. Funded by Transport Scotland, it provides up to £400 towards a home charger for eligible households in rural and remote areas of Scotland, including islands, with a household income of 50,000 or less. We check whether you qualify and handle the whole application for you.

How an installation works

Step 1 - Free survey: send us a few photos of your fuse board and parking space, or we will arrange a visit.

Step 2 - We'll assess your current electrics and requirements and provide a quotation for any proposed works

Step 3 - Installation: most home charge points are fitted in half a day.

Step 4 - Handover: we set up the app, certify the installation and notify your network operator.

What affects the cost? Every property is different. The main factors are the length of the cable run between your fuse board and the charger, whether your fuse board needs upgrading, and any groundwork. That is why we always survey before we quote - there are no surprises on the day.

Common questions about EV charging

Do I need off-street parking?

For a home charge point, yes - a driveway, garage or private parking space. If not, ask us about workplace charging instead.

How long does installation take?

Most home installations are completed in half a day. Workplace and fleet timescales depend on the number of charge points - we will confirm in your quote.

Tethered or untethered?

A tethered unit has its own cable attached - convenient for everyday charging. An untethered unit is a socket only - tidier, and it works with any cable. We will help you choose at the survey.

Will it work with my car?

Yes - we install universal Type 2 charge points, compatible with every current electric car and plug-in hybrid.

Are there any grants?

Businesses and charities can claim the Workplace Charging Scheme, covering up to 75 percent of purchase and installation costs per socket. Some households, including flats and rented homes, may qualify for the EV chargepoint grant. We will check your eligibility and handle the paperwork.

Yes - every charger we fit is a smart, load-managed unit that meets current regulations, and we also service, repair and upgrade existing charge points.
